Cornwall’s Eco Day, 2021-10-CAO

• Action Recommended

  That the Environmental and Climate Change Committee participate in Cornwall’s Eco Day on August 7, 2021.

2.

Advocacy for Tree Canopy and Natural Vegetation Protection, 2021-38-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

• Action Recommended
  1. That the committee receive Report 2021-38-IMW).
  2. That the committee provide administration with specific advocacy programs they would like to see developed.

3.

Climate Action, 2021-39-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

• Action Recommended

  a.That Administration use the public engagement site to provide a report to the Committee on the community knowledge of climate vocabulary.

  b.That Administration use the engagement website with Committee members only to create a set of ECCC statements using the City of Brantford and the City of London as templates.

Research of Tree Cutting By-laws, 2021-40-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

• Action Recommended
  1. That the Committee receive Report 2021-40-IMW.
  2. That the Committee request Administration to bring back community workshops, programs and partnerships with a non-profit that can demonstrate increased tree planting for the Committee’s consideration.

  That the Committee receive Report 2021-41-IMW.

Presentation to Council, 2021-42-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

• Action Recommended

  That the Committee recommend that administration conduct a facilitated workshop with the ECCC to determine the goal of the presentation, the presentation outline, and the expected presentation outcomes. Administration would bring a presentation plan to the committee with the input of the City’s Public Information Coordinator.

7.

Green Gas Emissions Inventory, 2021-43-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

• Action Recommended
  1. That the committee receive Report 2021-43-IMW.
  2. That the Committee brainstorm for items so that detailed research can be undertaken by Administration for either inclusion in the zero-carbon roadmap development or to be used to create separate committee motions.

Environment and Climate Change Committee Tree Canopy and Natural Vegetation Protection policy Update, 2021-45-Infrastructure and Municipal Works

  That the Committee receive report 2021-45-IMW.
